Few locations in the world are able to offer such an extraordinary diversity of sealife, but the Bay of Biscay is one of them, thanks to the enormous variation in sea depth as we cross two continental shelves. There will be plenty of opportunity to watch the whales and dolphins in action from the deck of your 5 star vessel, accompanied by an expert guide. The trip also includes a short stopover in Northern Spain with the opportunity for a nature walk or coach tour to explore the offerings of the local environment.
Agenda - Whale Watching in the Bay of Biscay
Day 1: Briefing and departure from Portsmouth accompanied by expert guides with radios to maximise the group's sightings on the trip. Day 2: Brittany Coast and south into the Bay of Biscay, seawatching. Day 3: Arrive at fishing town of Santurtzi. Nature walk in the Spanish foothills (Taxi fare #5). Optional coach tours (approx. #10 pp). Sail north across the Bay of Biscay, seawatching. Day 4: South-western approaches and into the Channel. Group trip log. Disembark at Portsmouth late afternoon.
Whale Watching in the Bay of Biscay Notes
You will travel on a five-star ferry. Facilities are excellent and include various restaurants and bars, swimming pool, jacuzzi, saunas, gym, cinema and a night club. (Many of the vessel's public facilities have recently been upgraded). This package is for one person in a shared cabin, guest packages are available on request. No meals on board are included. Cost quoted is for an inside cabin, an outside cabin with window is available for a supplement. There will be around 15-20 people on this trip. Insurance can be arranged, from around #19 per person.
