Launched for the 1992 Whitbread/Volvo Round the World Challenge, this 64ft Bruce Farr designed beauty is capable of speeds in excess of 25 knots. Spend two days learning the ropes of this l;ean mean racing machine. You will travel along the spectacular South coast of England along to Poole and Weymouth or around the Isle of Wight. You will sleep aboard with the rest of the crew and rise early the next morning for the return leg. An unforgettable taste of life on the ocean wave.
Agenda - Two Day Round the World Yacht Experience
Join the boat at 9am on the first day for a coffee and a safety briefing before we venture out into the Solent for a morning of learning how to use the boats equipment. After an introduction to the boat we'll sail off towards a destination agreed on by the crew. Arriving late afternoon you'll have time to explore and sample the local hospitality. Check out regional seafood specialties or enjoy traditional fish and chips on the beach, we leave you to decide how to spend your evening away. After you have recharged your batteries and enjoyed a bacon buttie, the second day should be a fast sprint back to Ocean Village at full power as you will be familiar with the workings of the boat.
Two Day Round the World Yacht Experience Notes
On purchasing this experience you will be sent an open dated gift voucher with a minimum ten months validity. You are welcome to sit back and enjoy the ride or take part in the sailing which will involve taking the helm, hoisting the spinnaker and trimming sails. The skipper reserves the right to curtail the experience on safety grounds if the weather becomes severe. If the experience is cancelled due to weather you will be rescheduled another date. Not suitable for those suffering from sea sickness. Sleeping on board is in single bunks in shared cabins and sleeping bags are provided. Light snacks and drinks are provided on board but the evening meal on the first night is not included. There will be a maximum of 10 guests and two professional crew on board.
